About Daara

Empowering Communities

The Daara Development Academy was co-created by 11 organizations across Sub-Saharan Africa and is coordinated by Better Purpose. at Daara we believe that the key to sustainably transforming Foundational literacy and Numeracy in Sub-Saharan Africa lies in empowering local organizations. We provide the training, resources, and collaboration needed to address the learning crisis and ensure every child receives a quality education.

Strengthening understanding of the science of teaching and learning, translating SoT into classroom practices and embedding these in programming, leveraging technology to enhance learning outcomes

Gathering and using evidence and learning to inform programming, demonstrating impact, communicating successes, designing and building a MEL function
